Like the PPL, the SACAA requires that the applicant for the license successfully pass the eight theoretical examinations as stipulated SA-CAR 61.01.5(f) within an 18 month period.

There is a big step up from the PPL syllabus with a significant change in the volume of work, as well as the detail and accuracy required. The subjects and exams are structured differently to those of the PPL, but remain online and multiple choice.
